Polaris Leadership Training

 

Polaris is the Boy Scout National Junior Leader Training Conference operated by the Cascade Pacific Council. It is a leadership skill-based program with hands-on leadership experiences.

Who may attend?
Only Scouts who are 13 - 15, First Class, and have not yet attended SOGUS. They may have had some leadership experience or are potential leaders in your troop. They need to be individuals who are self-motivated, and live the Scout Oath and Law.

When is the course offered?
There are two course dates to choose from.

  • Session 1: July 11 - 16, 2004

 

  • Session 2: July 18 - 23, 2004

SOGUS Junior Leader Training Conference

The Junior Leader Training Conference is an eight day outdoor experience for Troop and Crew leaders. It is conducted by the Cascade Pacific Council Leadership Training Committee. SOGUS uses high adventure activities as methods of instruction.  Click here for Registration Process and Rules.
 

Who May Attend?
Conference participants should be  Senior Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader or a Scout likely to assume one of these positions soon.  Because of the ruggedness and high adventure involved with SOGUS, the participants must be 14 years old (but under 18) or have completed the 8th grade by the time the course begins.  He must be a First Class Scout and have camping , hiking and cooking skills . Any exceptions must be cleared by the course director.

SOGUS is only offered for one week and can only accommodate 96 participants. Because of the demand for such training within the Council, each Troop/Team will be limited to 2 Scouts with others placed on a Troop/Team reserve list.  Contact the Scoutmaster for further information and registration.
